Have you long wanted to learn the essence of photography?

Team Young NTUC - 20/20 is Young NTUC’s photography interest group. It allows like-minded youths with interest in photography to have a platform to learn and share.

With the completion of basic photography class, TYN-20/20 will offer an advance photography class from April 2010. Participants will be exposed to lessons and field trips conducted by professionals as well as discount packages for camera equipment. On top of these, you will be given opportunities for your photographs to be exhibited or published.

20/20 gives you Training; Solutions; and Exposure. What we need from you is your enthusiasm.

This application for the advance course is only open to photographers who already own a digital SLR camera system, and is already competent of the basics in photography.

Each class is limited to only 30 participants per intake.

20/20 Course Description: Photography (2 hrs each 7.30pm-9.30pm)

This course will teach students advance photography skills beyond the basics. Including flash photography and lens techniques, how to digitally edit a picture, and how to handle digital processing. It will also talk about the various types tools used for postproduction of your photos.



Course Objectives

Through a series of assignments and practical sessions, students will learn the art of photography. Specifically, they will learn:

• Learn about the various tools used for post production
• Learn about flash photography application for both day and night
• Learn principles of digital photography
• Learn principles of what makes a good picture
• Round Island Photo shoot and Photo clinics

• Viewing, Framing, and Focusing
• Lens Types and Features
• Meters and Metering


Principles

• Depth of Field
• Light
• Exposure
• Filters
• Centering, Angles , Framing and Staging
• Selective Focus
• Different Light Setups.eg 3 point lighting
• Principles of 3s (Rule of thirds)
• Negative Space and Focus Theory


Software

• Photoshop Manipulation for application of principles.
